NAIDOC celebrations

The students at Kingswood Park Public School had a wonderful morning celebrating NAIDOC Day. This years theme was Because of her, we can! We celebrated the essential role that women have played and continue to play as active and significant role models within our community on a local, state and national level. Each class explored different significant Aboriginal women and presented this to the assembly, we all enjoyed listening to what they have achieved and the inspirational pathways they have made for many others.

For many weeks the students have been practicing and working closely with Jesse and Kaylee to learn culturally significant Aboriginal dances. The students looked amazing and their performances were outstanding. A big congratulations to all the students. We must also give the teachers a rap for their dancing aswell. We would really like to say a special thank you to Jesse and Kaylee for everything they have taught us and how hard they have worked with us on creating such a special performance.

All the students then headed back into class to learn about the Dilly bag and there was much enjoyment decorating their own incorporating Aboriginal symbols.

We would also like to thank Miss Catalogna for the amazing artwork inspired by this years theme that she created with each class. They looked magnificent on display around Area B.

Thank you to all the parents that came to celebrate with us and all the students and teachers for your hard work.
